CHAS Dental Subsidy

CHAS (Community Health Assist Scheme) enables all Singapore Citizens, including Pioneer Generation (PG) and Merdeka Generation (MG) cardholders, to receive subsidies for medical and/or dental care at participating General Practitioner (GP) and dental clinics.

Patients need to show both their NRIC and valid CHAS, MG or PG card during their visits for verification purposes.

How CHAS Dental Subsidy Scheme Works

CHAS Orange, CHAS Blue, MG and PG cardholders can receive subsidies for selected dental services at Nuffield Dental clinics.

The table below reflects the dental services covered under CHAS, and the claim limits and subsidy amount for each type of service according to the different CHAS tiers.

Please note that the dentist will need to make a clinical assessment to determine whether patients meet the CHAS claim guidelines for each dental procedure. Patients should speak with their dentists for more information.

CHAS Card Tiers

The colour of the CHAS card indicates the subsidy tier that cardholders are entitled to — CHAS Blue, Orange or Green. All Pioneer Generation (PG) and Merdeka Generation (MG) seniors are also entitled to special subsidies at Nuffield Dental clinics.

Additionally, citizens with the Public Assistance (PA) card can present their card to receive the full CHAS subsidies without applying for CHAS.

Eligibility

All Singapore Citizens can apply for CHAS. Every household is required to submit an application in order to receive the card.
Subsidy amounts provided differs depending on the following criteria:

For households with an income: Monthly Household Income per person

This is determined by dividing the total gross household income per month by the number of family members staying in the household.

For households without an income: The Annual Value (AV) of the home (assessed by IRAS)

The AV is the approximate amount of rent collected annually if the home is being rented out.

Merdeka Generation (MG)

The Government introduced the Merdeka Generation Package (MGP) in 2019 to honour and thank our Merdeka Generation for their contributions.

You would be eligible for the MGP if:
You’re a Singapore Citizen,

Born on/between 1 January 1950 and 31 December 1959
Obtained citizenship on/before 31 December 1996

Alternatively, if you did not receive the Pioneer Generation Package, but are/and:

A Singapore Citizen born on/before 31 December 1949
Obtained citizenship on/before 31 December 1996

Pioneer Generation (PG)

The Government introduced the Pioneer Generation Package (PGP) to honour and thank our pioneers for their hard work and dedication in making Singapore what it is today.

The package includes a host of initiatives aimed at making healthcare affordable for our Pioneer Generation for life.

You would be eligible for the PGP if:
You’re a Singapore Citizen,

Born on/before 31 December 1949
Obtained citizenship on/before 31 December 1986.

Those eligible for the Pioneer Generation Package would have received a notification letter in June 2014.
