Invisalign Cost Singapore: Plan Your Finances for Straighter Teeth

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign offers a modern and appealing approach to orthodontic treatment, providing a compelling alternative to traditional braces. Specifically, Invisalign utilises a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually shift teeth into their desired positions. These aligners are custom-made from a smooth, comfortable plastic that is virtually invisible when worn.

Invisalign's success stems from its technology. The iTero scanner creates precise 3D models used in ClinCheck software to design treatment plans. SmartTrack material provides gentle, consistent force for efficient tooth movement, while SmartForce features deliver targeted pressure for predictable results, addressing various orthodontic needs.

This individualised approach allows Invisalign to address a range of orthodontic issues, from minor crowding to more significant bite problems, effectively correcting both simple and moderately complex malocclusions.

Invisalign Cost Singapore

Invisalign costs in Singapore can vary significantly depending on the complexity of your case and the specific treatment plan recommended by your orthodontist. Prices typically range from SGD $ 3,000 to SGD $ 10,000 or more.

Invisalign offers different options to suit various budgets and treatment needs.

Invisalign Express Cost

SGD $3,000 - SGD $4,000
Treatment Duration: 6 to 12 months

Invisalign Express is ideal for minor tooth movements. It uses up to 7 aligners, removable plastic trays that gradually shift your teeth. This treatment is suitable for simple issues like slightly crowded teeth or small gaps (spacing) between teeth. Because it uses fewer aligners than other Invisalign treatments, it's typically a faster and sometimes less expensive option for those who only require minimal adjustments to their smile.

Invisalign Lite Cost

SGD $4,500 - SGD $6,000
Treatment Duration: 6 to 12 months

Invisalign Lite is a good option for those with mild to moderate orthodontic issues who are looking for a faster and more affordable treatment than comprehensive Invisalign. Using up to 14 aligners, it effectively corrects minor crowding, spacing, and slight bite problems. This treatment is ideal if you've been told you don't need full braces or a more extensive Invisalign plan, but still want to improve your smile.

Invisalign Moderate Cost

SGD $6,000 - SGD $7,000
Treatment Duration: 1 to 2 years

Invisalign Moderate is designed for more complex cases than Invisalign Lite, addressing a wider range of orthodontic issues. While Invisalign Lite is suitable for minor corrections like slight crowding or spacing, Moderate tackles more pronounced problems.

For example, Moderate can correct moderate overbites or underbites, more significant crowding or spacing, and issues with tooth rotation that Lite may not be able to address effectively. It utilises up to 26 aligners, allowing for more comprehensive tooth movement compared to the fewer aligners used in the Lite package. This makes it a good option for patients who require substantial correction but don't need the full extent of treatment offered by Invisalign Comprehensive.

Invisalign Comprehensive Cost

SGD $7,000 - SGD $9,500
Treatment Duration: 2 to 3 years

The Invisalign Comprehensive plan is designed for complex and more complex cases. It offers unlimited aligners within a set timeframe, allowing orthodontists the flexibility to achieve optimal results even in the most challenging situations. This is particularly beneficial for patients with severe crowding, significant spacing, or complex bite problems, as it allows for adjustments and refinements throughout the treatment process. It's important to consult with an orthodontist to determine the complexity of your case and whether the Comprehensive plan is the right choice for you.

Invisalign Go Cost

SGD $3,688
Treatment Duration: 3 – 6 months

Invisalign Go has made orthodontic treatment more accessible to patients with mild to moderate needs. Invisalign Go utilises up to 20 aligners and is designed for less complex cases. This streamlined approach, requiring fewer aligners, often translates to a lower cost and shorter treatment time compared to comprehensive orthodontic treatment. This makes straighter teeth a realistic option for a wider range of people who may have previously been deterred by cost or the perceived length of treatment. Therefore, Invisalign Go represents a significant step forward in making orthodontic solutions more attainable.

Invisalign Anterior Cost

SGD $3,531.40
Treatment Duration: 3-9 months

Invisalign Anterior is a treatment option designed to correct the "social six," the front six teeth from canine to canine.  It's also suitable for treating post-braces relapse. This treatment typically involves up to 14 aligner sets and lasts between 6 and 12 months.  While the initial treatment covers up to 14 aligners, additional refinement aligners can be purchased if needed, with the first set costing $216 and subsequent sets priced at $486 each.

Comparison of Invisalign Types

Treatment Type Number of Aligners (per arch) Suitable Use Cases Additional Refinement Aligners Ideal cases for treatment
Express Up to 7 Minor corrections Another set of refiners is available. Use them before the treatment plan ends. Minor shifts in tooth position and relapse.
Lite Up to 14 Mild to moderate cases Two extra sets of refiners are included. Use them before the plan expires. Minor teeth spacing and crowding concerns.
Moderate Up to 26 Moderate cases An unlimited number of refiners are provided. Use them before the plan expires. Mild instances of overcrowding and spacing problems. Amount payable by patient = Total clinic charges - CHAS subsidies
Comprehensive Unlimited Complex cases The plan includes unlimited sets of refiners. Make sure to use them before it expires. Severe dental problems, including crowding of the teeth.
Go Up to 20 Mild to moderate adult cases Up to 3 sets of refinements can be purchased separately. Mild to moderate crowding, spacing, and bite issues in adults.
Anterior Up to 14 Correcting the "social six" (front six teeth) and post-braces relapse Additional sets can be purchased at: $216 (1st set), $486 (2nd set onwards) Primarily focuses on correcting misalignment, spacing, and other minor cosmetic issues with the front teeth. Good for post-orthodontic relapse.

What Determines the Cost of Invisalign Treatment in Singapore?

Invisalign Provider Tier

Invisalign categorises its providers into different tiers based on their experience and case volume. These tiers reflect the provider's level of expertise and the number of Invisalign cases they've handled. The tiers are:

  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Diamond
  • Diamond Plus
  • Diamond Apex

Higher-tier providers, like Diamond Apex, may charge more but often offer more advanced treatment options and potentially faster results.

When searching for a Singapore Invisalign provider, consider their tier, experience, and patient reviews. While a higher tier often suggests greater expertise, it's crucial to balance cost with the provider's qualifications and your specific needs.

Researching and consulting with different providers will help you find the best fit for your Invisalign treatment.

Tooth Conditions

Your unique dental situation plays a big role in determining costs. Simple cases like minor crowding or spacing issues typically cost less. Meanwhile, more complex cases involving severe misalignment, bite problems, or multiple issues will likely be pricier.

Some common tooth conditions that affect Invisalign costs include:

  • Overcrowding
  • Overjet
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Overbites or underbites
  • Crossbites
  • Open bites

The more severe your condition, the more aligners and treatment time you'll need, which increases the cost.

Location

The cost of Invisalign can vary depending on where you get treatment in Singapore. Dental clinics in prime areas like Orchard Road or the Central Business District often charge more due to higher operating costs.

Clinics in residential areas or heartlands may offer more competitive pricing. However, it's important to balance cost with the provider's expertise and convenience of location for your regular check-ups.

Complexity and Length of Treatment

The complexity of your case directly impacts treatment length and cost. Simple cases might be resolved in just a few months, while more complex issues could take 18 months or longer.

Factors affecting complexity include:

  • Number of teeth that need moving
  • Amount of movement required
  • Need for attachments or elastics
  • Presence of existing dental work (e.g. bridges, implants)

Longer treatments mean more aligners and appointments, leading to higher costs.

Additional Procedures / Appliances

Some patients need extra procedures or appliances alongside their Invisalign treatment. These can add to the overall cost.

Common additions include:

  • Tooth extractions: Extractions are sometimes necessary to create space for teeth to move into their correct positions, especially in cases of severe crowding.
  • Interproximal reduction (IPR): IPR involves gently shaving small amounts of enamel between teeth to create slight space. This is often used as an alternative to extractions in cases of mild to moderate crowding.
  • Attachments or buttons for elastics: These small, tooth-coloured attachments are bonded to your teeth and provide anchors for elastics (rubber bands). Elastics help correct bite issues and close gaps.
  • Type of retainers after treatment: Retainers are essential for maintaining your new smile after completing the Invisalign treatment. Different types are available, each with varying costs. They are crucial for preventing your teeth from shifting back to their original positions.

Your orthodontist will explain any necessary additional procedures and their costs during your initial consultation.

Costs for Pre-Treatment and Aftercare

Other factors that can impact the cost of Invisalign treatment include:

  • Pre-treatment procedures: Any dental work needed before starting Invisalign, such as tooth extraction or scaling and polishing.
  • Aftercare: The cost of retainers after treatment.

Invisalign Insurance & Subsidies

Insurance

Dental insurance for Invisalign depends on your specific plan. Most of the time, it requires an additional add-on since Invisalign is considered an aesthetic procedure. Contact your insurance provider to confirm if it’s covered under your policy.

Subsidies

Invisalign is classified as an aesthetic treatment and is not eligible for dental subsidies like the CHAS scheme, Merdeka Generation Subsidy, or Pioneer Generation Subsidy.

MediSave cannot be used to cover the cost of Invisalign. In Singapore, MediSave is only claimable for dental surgeries performed for medical reasons. Since Invisalign is non-surgical and aesthetic, it is not covered.

Reducing Invisalign Treatment Costs

  1. Compare prices from different clinics. Shop around and get quotes from several dental practices. Prices can vary significantly, so don't settle for the first offer you receive.
  2. Look for promotions and discounts. Many clinics run special offers throughout the year. Keep an eye out for seasonal deals or new patient discounts that could save you hundreds of dollars.
  3. Check if your insurance covers orthodontic treatment. Some dental insurance plans may cover a portion of Invisalign costs. Review your policy or speak with your insurer to see if you're eligible for coverage.
  4. Consider Invisalign Express or Lite. If you only need minor tooth movements, these shorter treatment options can be more affordable than full Invisalign treatment.
  5. Ask about payment plans. Many clinics offer interest-free monthly instalments to help spread the cost. This can make treatment more manageable for your budget.
  6. Maintain good oral hygiene. Taking excellent care of your teeth and aligners can help prevent issues that might extend treatment time and increase costs.
  7. Be consistent with your treatment. Wear your aligners as directed and attend all appointments. This helps ensure your treatment progresses smoothly without costly delays or setbacks.

When do You Need Invisalign?

 You might need Invisalign if:

  • Your teeth are crooked or not as straight as you'd like
  • You have gaps between your teeth that trap food particles
  • Your teeth are overcrowded, making brushing and flossing difficult
  • You have bite problems like overbite, underbite, crossbite, or open bite
  • You struggle to clean between your teeth due to their alignment
  • You grind your teeth (bruxism) and need protection
  • You have TMJ issues and want to improve your bite alignment

Invisalign can help with these issues by:

  • Straightening crooked teeth, boosting your confidence
  • Closing gaps between teeth, improving oral hygiene
  • Creating more space in overcrowded mouths
  • Correcting bite problems to reduce jaw pain and protect teeth
  • Making it easier to maintain good oral hygiene
  • Acting as a barrier against teeth grinding
  • Potentially reducing stress on the jaw joint for TMJ sufferers

Remember, the severity of your condition will determine if Invisalign is right for you. It's best to consult a dentist for a proper assessment. They can recommend the most suitable treatment plan for your unique needs.

Invisalign Procedure

Getting Invisalign is a straightforward process, and here's a breakdown of what you can expect:

  1. Consultation and 3D Scanning: Your journey begins with a consultation with your dentist or orthodontist. They will assess your teeth, discuss your smile goals, and determine if Invisalign is the right treatment for you. Instead of traditional X-rays, they'll likely use advanced 3D scanning technology to create a detailed image of your teeth and jaw. This scan is used to map out your entire treatment plan.
  2. Custom Treatment Plan: Based on the 3D scans and your consultation, your dentist will develop a personalised treatment plan. This plan outlines the precise movements your teeth will make throughout the Invisalign process, and it even allows you to preview what your smile will look like after treatment!
  3. Receiving Your Aligners: Once the treatment plan is finalised, a series of custom-made, clear aligners will be fabricated specifically for you. You'll receive your first set of aligners at your next appointment.

  4. Wearing Your Aligners: You'll wear each set of aligners for approximately two weeks, removing them only for eating, brushing, and flossing. It's crucial to wear your aligners for 20-22 hours per day for them to be effective.
  5. Regular Check-ups: You'll have regular check-up appointments with your dentist or orthodontist, typically every 6-8 weeks. These appointments allow them to monitor your progress, ensure the treatment is going as planned, and provide you with your next sets of aligners.
  6. Treatment Duration: The total treatment time for Invisalign varies depending on the complexity of your case, but it generally ranges from 12 to 18 months.
  7. Retainers: After you complete your Invisalign treatment, you'll need to wear retainers to maintain your new smile. Your dentist will advise you on the type of retainers and how often you need to wear them.

Costs of Invisalign Alternatives

Several companies produce clear aligners similar to Invisalign but often at lower prices. These options can be suitable for mild to moderate teeth alignment issues.

Type Treatment effectiveness Price
Zenyum Good for minor corrections SGD $2,400 - SGD $4,000
WonderSmile Effective for most cases SGD $2,500
Smile Direct Club Best for mild issues SGD $2,500 - SGD $3,200

Zenyum is a newer brand that focuses on minor corrections. It's more affordable but may not work for complex cases.

WonderSmile offers a middle ground. It can handle more issues than Zenyum but costs less than Invisalign.

Smile Direct Club is the cheapest option. It's a good choice if you only need small adjustments.

Braces

Traditional braces remain a popular and effective choice for teeth straightening. They come in different types to suit various needs and budgets.

Appearance Frequency of dental visits Price range
Metal Every 4-6 weeks SGD $3,500 - SGD $6,000
Ceramic Every 4-6 weeks SGD $4,500 - SGD $8,000
Lingual Every 6-8 weeks SGD $8,000 - SGD $12,000

Metal braces are the most noticeable but also the cheapest. They work well for complex cases. Ceramic braces blend in with your teeth. They cost more than metal but less than clear aligners. Lingual braces attach behind your teeth. They're hidden from view but are the most expensive option.

Cost Of Root Canal Treatment In Singapore

Root Canal Treatment Cost

The price varies according to the unique treatment prescribed to each individual patient. For example, if a root canal treatment is require for more than one root, the cost would go up as well. However, saving the tooth with a Root Canal treatment is relatively cost-efficient in the long run.

A Root Canal Treatment procedure in Singapore's price ranges from S$500 - S$1700. However, the price may or may not include the crowning of the tooth and consultation charges. Average consultation prices of dental services in Singapore ranges from S$75- S$200.

Root Canal Treatment FAQs

Is a Root Canal Treatment procedure painful?

  • The entire procedure will be done under local anaesthesia, so it will not be painful than getting your tooth filled or a wisdom tooth surgery. However, the affected area may cause discomfort and be slightly sore post-surgery but it goes away after a few days.
  • If the pain persists, please consult our doctor immediately. You can reach us at +65 9839 7363.

Can I go about my day to day activities after a Root Canal Treatment?

  • Most patients are able to return to school or work the next day following a Root Canal Treatment. However, it is advised against eating immediately post-surgery as there may be numbness in the affected area.

What are the side effects of a Root Canal Treatment?

  • The side effects of a Root Canal Treatment differs with each individual. Some people may experience pain or a slight soreness post-surgery, and some people may experience little to no pain at all. This also applies to certain patients experiencing a measured amount of sensitivity associated to cold or heat when consuming food or beverages.

What is the aftercare for a Root Canal Treatment?

  • As a Root Canal Treatment is considered a restorative procedure, the after-care is deemed crucial to experience lasting effects. After your procedure, your dentist will send you home with pain-killers to counter the soreness you may feel when the anaesthesia wears off. It is also strongly advised against the consumption of food until the numbness wears off. Brushing and flossing daily is encouraged to keep the area clean and this in turn would prevent infection. Upon completing any follow-up appointments for the Root Canal Treatment, you may be required to return to the dentist for a final crown to fully restore the tooth. A properly treated and restored tooth can last as long as your natural teeth.

Can a Root Canal Treatment be unsuccessful?

  • A Root Canal Treatment has a 90% success rate of fully restoring your tooth. However. failure to fully restore your tooth can occur if there is a loose crown, tooth fracture or decay. Undetected canal branches or an obstruction that causes the cleaning difficulties may also cause a Root Canal Procedure to fail. Should your Root Canal Treatment be unsuccessful, explore options with Nuffield's Endodontist for possible solutions.
