Medical expenses can sometimes be substantial. To keep these expenses affordable, the Singapore Government provides subsidies for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents of Singapore for medical bills from primary to tertiary healthcare.
Other healthcare financing schemes & subsidies available at Nuffield Dental include MediShield Life, CareShield Life, MediSave, CHAS and ElderShield.
Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS)
The Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) enables Singapore Citizens from all backgrounds to receive subsidies for medical and dental care at participating General Practitioners (GPs) and dental clinics near their homes.
To cater to varied financial needs, CHAS is structured into 3 separate tiers: blue, orange, green. CHAS provides Singapore Citizens from lower-income households with higher subsidies, and these individuals will receive a blue or orange Health Assist card.
With the newly-introduced green Health Assist card, all Singaporeans with certain chronic conditions can now receive subsidies for their treatment costs, regardless of income. Health Assist cardholders will also enjoy subsidized referrals to Specialist Outpatient Clinics (SOCs) located at Public Hospitals or National Dental Centre when required.

Should you not have enough savings in your MediSave Account, you can use the MediSave savings of your immediate family members.
The Baby Bonus (Child Development Co-Savings) Scheme helps to ease the financial costs of raising children. The scheme includes a cash gift, and the Child Development Account (CDA).
When the CDA is opened, the child receives the CDA First Step, and the government dollar-for-dollar matching contributions where the amount deposited by parents is matched and added to the account.
